The Wassenburg Green Challenge
We believe in sustainable, equal relationships. Profit and return optimisation are of course important, but striving for short-term gain goes against our convictions. We therefore go for enduring relationships and a sustainable, focused vision; continuity. This is because we also want to contribute to a bright future as a core condition for the well-being of people, companies and our living environment.
Wassenburg Medical BV operates in the medical sector in which many improvements can be achieved on the theme of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Partly stimulated by our stakeholders, we feel involved and responsible as a market party to contribute, where possible, to this important social theme.
From this starting point, we want to raise awareness of the importance of CSR in our organisation and among our stakeholders. In doing so, we follow Dutch and European legislation and Hoya’s policy plans. This is so that we are able to take our social responsibility together with our stakeholders, and to actively develop and maintain CSR step by step.
Code of Sustainability
The aspect of sustainability is of great importance for the healthcare industry and medical technology. The Code of Sustainability of Wassenburg Medical considers the essential legal regulations that are associated with it in social, ecological, and economic terms, as well as the necessary corporate organizational structures (“Governance”).
Social Sustainability
Compliance with the occupational health and safety obligations applicable at the place of employment, in particular to reduce the risk of accidents at the workplace and other work-related health risks, is essential for us as a manifestation of the precautionary principle. For this reason, we provide our employees with the necessary protective equipment and safe workplaces. We comply with applicable working time laws to protect our employees from physical and mental fatigue.
Social Sustainability
We continuously strive to make all our activities and business processes as resource-efficient as possible. We implement economically viable opportunities for improvement in an appropriate manner.
Economic Sustainability
We want to emphasize to achieve enduring economic prosperity by adopting environmentally sustainable practices and implementing high standards of governance. This strategy ensures that growth is not only robust but also ethically managed and resilient, safeguarding resources and societal well-being for future generations.
